What makes us slightly unusual, in fact very unusual, is that we don’t pretend to make the whole business of investing seem much more complicated than it really is.

After all, there are only four main choices: cash, bonds, equities and property.

Seriously, it doesn’t have to be difficult

Unfortunately, every passing day presents a whole fresh seam of statistics for the marketing teams to play with. Hardly surprising therefore that dozens, even hundreds, of investment companies can ‘prove’ they are the best.

So what does it cost?

We will always agree fees for the whole project with you before any serious work begins. Typically, for advising and setting up new investments, the total cost comes to around £1,000 plus 1% of the amount concerned. That works out at £3000 for a £200,000 investment for example.

Once in place we offer a package of ongoing support from 0.35% pa to 1% pa, but typically 0.6% p.a. for funds under £500,000. So £150 per quarter for every £100,000 invested.

This means the total annual cost of investment can be kept as low as 1% p.a. ‘for everything’, including investment management, financial and tax advice, and platform administration and custodianship.
